I am in my final year of my Ph.D. Program in Counseling Psychology through the State University of New York at Buffalo, which is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). I am completing my full-time APA-accredited doctoral internship with Morrison Child and Family Services while concurrently completing a placement here at Mindsights as an adjunct training component to the internship. Prior to the Ph.D. program, I completed my Master’s of Education in School Counseling and worked as a Behavioral Health Clinician for a non-profit serving individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
During my doctoral studies, I have been fortunate to receive clinical training in a variety of settings and with a diverse set of clientele. These training experiences have included conducting individual and group therapy with primarily first-generation college students at a large urban college; providing in-home behavioral intervention for families of children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders; developing and implementing treatment plans in residential settings for children and adults with developmental disabilities and psychiatric diagnoses; and delivering trauma-informed individual and group treatment on a behavioral unit of an inpatient psychiatric hospital serving adults diagnosed with schizophrenia and other serious and persistent mental illnesses. Collectively, my clinical experiences have given me the opportunity to expand the breadth and depth of my professional interests, which focus largely on serving individuals across the lifespan who face challenges both developmental and psychological in nature and who seek to achieve an optimal quality of life both personally and professionally. My passion for person-centered and systems-level intervention serves to continually renew my commitment to quality, trauma-informed advocacy for children, adults, and families alike.
