I earned my doctorate degree in Educational Psychology through the University of Utah. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a variety of school, clinic, and treatment settings. My graduate training focused on autism spectrum disorders and included research with the University of Utah’s Autism Research Program. In the public school system, I have years of experience working directly with preschool, elementary and high school students conducting evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services, as well as providing direct counseling services to students. I completed the APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship program at The Children’s Center (Salt Lake City, Utah) conducting trauma therapy with young children and families, and psychological evaluations for young children with trauma and complex presentations.

Following my internship experience, I worked in educational settings providing services and assessments to preschool-age children. I also developed and rolled out a year-long social emotional learning curriculum, and taught mindfulness to educators, parents, and students. I have continued to teach mindfulness in a variety of settings, and have a daily practice myself. Concurrently, I worked independently with PsychSolutions providing high-quality neuropsychological evaluations to children and adolescents in residential and wilderness therapy settings. I am excited to be a part of the MindSights team following my recent move to Portland!

My current specialty is in the assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Nonverbal Learning Disorder. I enjoy working collaboratively with school teams given my background in educational psychology. I also frequently work with children and adolescents with depression, anxiety, complex trauma, Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and learning disabilities. I utilize a trauma-informed, mindful approach to my interactions with children and families. My goal in assessment is to be able to tell each child’s story in a way that increases understanding of their unique needs and enhances their well-being.
