I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology from Pacific University in Oregon, with a specialty focus in pediatric neuropsychological assessments. Before joining the team at Mindsights, I completed my doctoral internship at the Haymount Institute for Psychological Services in North Carolina. During my doctoral studies I have worked throughout Oregon as a School Psychologist, working with students, families, and school staff to identify and develop effective strategies to support learning, behavior, and social skills development.
Over the course of my training, I have worked in community mental health clinics, private clinics, pediatric hospitals, and schools in both urban and rural settings, where I developed comprehensive neuropsychological, psycho-diagnostic, psycho-educational, and functional behavior assessment skills.
My current areas of interest include working with children, adolescents, teens, and young adults who experience symptoms of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, learning disabilities, anxiety and mood disorders, attachment disruptions, and traumatic stress. I have a passion for working with a diverse population including families with regard to adoption and transracial family identity. Operating from a strength-based perspective, I consider the complex interactions between biological, ecological, and developmental processes and believe it is important to include support systems (e.g., family, caregivers) in the treatment of children. My overall goal is to develop appropriate treatment planning and relevant recommendations that align with an individual’s unique profile and are applicable to the client’s culture and environment, ensuring successful implementation of interventions and resulting in better overall outcomes.
