Nick Cherry, Psy.D.
About Nick (he/him/his)
Hello! I completed my doctoral degree in clinical psychology in 2024 at George Fox University.
Over the course of my training, I have gained experience in psychological assessment and therapy in various settings including residential treatment centers, university counseling, and community mental health.
I have worked with individuals across the lifespan with a specific focus on the impact of trauma on an individual’s life and behaviors. I engage in a therapeutic approach to psychological assessment with an emphasis on incorporating elements of an individual’s biological, psychological, social, cultural, and identity factors. Along with a focus on trauma, I have experience in working with individuals with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental disorders, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), anxiety, depression, and substance abuse.
I approach psychological assessment with a strengths-based approach and focus on developing actionable recommendations based on an individual’s resources and capabilities. My goal is to provide families with clear and useful information about their child to nurture their strengths and develop strategies to address any concerns.
Personally, I enjoy reading, playing video games, watching hockey and basketball, and playing with my dog, Juniper. I like to connect with clients about their interests and believe that supporting an individual’s passions and interests furthers their motivation for change and growth as a person.
